With over 50 athletes on the course, including co-host, Mike, C26 Triathlon created a slew of memories at Ironman Chattanooga. The weather was perfect, but we were once again reminded how HARD it is to do these races. We get into the swim, bike, run from both an on and off the course perspective. Mike tells the story of his battle with Phil and Chet in what many called “The Crushing Iron War II.” We talk about how some people keep getting better and others continue to struggle in this sport. It was a long time coming, but Ironman Wisconsin was back in full force. We were once again reminded that IRONMAN IS HARD and it’s easy to take that for granted. We look at the 2 loop swim, the difficult bike course and the second loop of the run. We talk about great memories, dealing with DNFs and how to get your mental game right for these races.

We have a ton of experience with, and love, Ironman Wisconsin. Today we go through the most important factors for you to have a solid race. We look at keys to race morning and being relaxed for the swim. How to handle the unique transition. We also break down the body-blow bike course from a strategy perspective. This is not a PR type of course and it’s best to be smart, be ready for rough roads, lots of turns and never ending climbs, and tons of spectators. The run course is challenging but fair. Lots of support. We’ll look at how to approach all the different sections.

Another "Road Cast" as we go over everything we learned and experienced at Ohio 70.3. C26 had 30 athletes race, including Coach Robbie, and Mike (Run Relay slot). It turned out to be a much tougher day than we thought with high humidity and dew point. We talk about things we did right and things we would have done differently. The delayed start, the stories within the race and our general impressions of Ohio 70.3.

This one meanders a bit, but then gets into actionable Ironman racing strategies. How physical meets mental throughout the day. When/if to turn up the bike, and how to think about your marathon. We get into training harder than you should race and how that translates into mile by mile strategy. We also talk about how to tackle your “B-Race” and why the results shouldn’t fool you. We talk about peaking at the right time, how you should feel out of the swim and off the bike, and playing the Ironman “run game.” It’s all about nailing the first 135 miles.
